  1. A person buys a second-hand mobile phone at a very low price from a stranger without checking the ownership papers. Later, the person finds out that the mobile phone was stolen. If the person continues to retain the mobile phone despite having knowledge of it being stolen, he/she may be charged under Section 453 of the IPC.
  2. A person buys a laptop from a friend at a very low price. Later, the person finds out that the laptop was stolen from a nearby office. If the person continues to retain the laptop despite having knowledge of it being stolen, he/she may be charged under Section 453 of the IPC.

In conclusion, Section 453 of the IPC deals with the offence of dishonestly receiving stolen property. It is essential to understand the provisions of the law and to act within its boundaries to avoid any legal consequences. If you receive or retain any stolen property without any lawful authority and with the knowledge or belief that the property is stolen, you may be charged under this section and may face imprisonment, a fine, or both.
