Negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter

According to section 285 of Indian penal code, Whoever does, with fire or any combustible matter, any act so rashly or negligently as to endanger human life, or to be likely to cause hurt or injury to any other person, or knowingly or negligently omits to take such order with any fire or any combustible matter in
his possession as is sufficient to guard against any probable danger to human life from such fire or combustible matter. The act must be endangering to human life or must be likely to cause hurt or injury to another person. If this is not the case then there should be an omission, either knowingly or negligently,
to take such an order with fire or with any combustible matter which is in his possession that is sufficient to guard against such probable danger to human life arising from such fire or combustible matter. A person held guilty under this section shall be punished with either simple or rigorous imprisonment
maximum up to six months or with the fine maximum up to one thousand rupees, or with both.

The offence under this section is bailable, cognizable and non-compoundable, and triable by any Magistrate.
